We are sad to announce the passing of our loving Mother Marilyn Kay (Allman) Foster of Seymour Indiana. She died at age 83 on June 2, 2023 at 1:00 PM. Marilyn passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones. Marilyn's faith in God seen her through many years of being ill.

Marilyn was born to Evert and Floris Allman on August 11, 1939 in Seymour Indiana.

Marilyn was a member of Nazarene Church. She married Deb Foster on May 11, 1958.

Marilyn began her career as a Hair stylist. She later became a Real Estate Broker alongside her husband, where they built and sold their own houses.

She had a passion for antiques and attended auctions and collected antiques. For many years. Marilyn had an Antique shop in Vernon Indiana. She was very knowledgeable of Antique jewelry, glassware and furniture. She enjoyed playing Bingo at the Coffee Creek Club and The Elks Club where she played a table full of 64 to 80 cards at a time.

Marilyn was very talented and crafty. She enjoyed and had a remarkable talent for sewing, upholstery, building, carving and painting. She has hand sewed and hand quilted several quilts. Some of her wood working projects included building kitchen cabinets, building bookcases and building a table/booth for a breakfast nook. She exhibited many of her paintings at the Jackson County 4-H Fair and the Indiana State Fair, winning first place ribbons on her paintings.

Marilyn was a self-taught musician and she excelled in playing the piano, Accordion and guitar.

She spent many years caring for her husband when he was ill and provided a loving home for her family filled with happiness and laughter.

Marilyn is survived by three daughters, Teresa Lynn Abell of Seymour. Debra Kay (Jeffrey) Ryle of Macomb, Michigan and Rhonda Sue (Richard) Atha of Seymour. Several grandchildren, among them are Melissa Abell of Seymour, Marty Root of Seymour, Toby (Ruby) Atha of Seymour, Tim Atha of Seymour, Heather (Mario) Gomez of Macomb Michigan, and Jennifer (Rob) Karaffa of Clinton Township, Michigan. Several great-grandchildren, among them are Cogan and Gavin Dutton, Kyle (Aerial) Root, Alexandra Carly Jo (Kiah) Root , Dezi, Archie, and Josie-Rose Karaffa, Adrienne (James) Gray, Ethan Gomez, Dekota (Darin) Cowels, Madison, Treyton and Jacob Atha (Makenzie), Megan Leutky (Nathan) and Mitchell Leutky. great-great grandchildren, Mya, Sidney and Graham, Kida Dawn, Delilah and Gabriella, Presley, Piper, Lakyn and Tatum. Sister Nancy Murphy and Charlotte S. Hill. Brother Joe Allman and Stepbrother John Engleking. Brother in law Ted Foster, sister in law Donna Woodson and Patsy Allman, several nieces and nephews. Marilyn is also survived by close friends she has loved like daughters Angie Russell and Angie Atha.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Delbert (Deb), her sister Janet Martin and Judy Van-hentryck. Brothers Evert Allman Jr., Donnie Allman, Roland Allman, Harry Butch Allman and Earl Allman. Daughter Carla Jo and Sister in Law Diane Corwin, Margie Manuel, Brother in laws Robert Foster, Walter Foster, mother in law Irma Foster and Father in law Clarence Foster.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, June 5, 2023, at Voss and Sons Funeral Home in Seymour with Reverend Thomas Woodson officiating. Family and friends may gather for visitation from 10:00 AM until services at 12:00 PM time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Schneck Hospice.

Voss &Son's Funeral and Cremation Services have been entrusted with the services of Marilyn.

Marilyn will be forever loved and missed by her three daughters, family and friends.
